Born in Cambridge, England, Stephen Light has lived in South America since 1992, and has been based in Peru since 1996.
Now based in Lima, he is a bilingual translator, writer, journalist, Spanish language tutor and occasional trekking guide, and has worked as a travel guide in ten South American countries.
He is a freelance translator and also the English editor of a Lima-based bilingual cultural magazine.
He has translated a wide range of texts, from academic works by distinguished scholars such as the Peruvian historian Doctor Federico Kauffmann Doig, to postgraduate theses, magazine articles, travel texts, publicity material and websites.
